We had a wonderful, online Gathering of Peacemakers meeting in June (recording available here). Leigh Taylor Young Morton shared a beautiful vision of Windermere as a place of peace throughout the ages, and John Morton demonstrated that peace is present.

I think that we’re playing at a very large scale when we play at world peace and we take that on. And that’s something that John-Roger laid down. He’s the one who announced the purpose of the Institute. It would be to study, so it’s not what I would call a politically activist type of process or intention.

It’s much more learn what peace is on a very personal basis, and if you learn it there, then there’s an opportunity to take it to the level of world peace. That we could go out and demonstrate what it is and live what it is.

We also introduced our new Adopt-A-Quality for Individual and World Peace certificates (more info). This was a delightful volunteer project that began with a donor asking for a certificate to help her attune to her quality throughout the year. For those that need more background, we have 78 qualities of peace that donors can adopt. It’s a way of setting your intention towards manifesting the qualities more in your life. The qualities have been charged by IIWP’s founder, J-R, and continue to be blessed by our spiritual director, John Morton. It’s a fun way to support the work we do at IIWP and Windermere.

We put together teams of volunteers to find relevant quotes and images for each quality, design the certificates, and print and mail these certificates. We also had a generous donation that covered all the costs of printing and mailing the certificates.

We’ll be starting our first landscaping project around the Windermere labyrinth. With COVID rearing its head again, we’d like to keep the work parties small. Want to come help us lay some flagstone? We’d like to have a contact person from your team schedule a time, and then put together a group of 1-10 people to come up to Windermere. We recommend coming in the morning to beat the heat and to plan on spending 3-4 hours laying rock. We’re happy to provide lunch. We think with a few groups like this, we could get the flagstone down before our event on October 31.

Stay tuned for a Windermere picnic, labyrinth blessing and Q&A with John Morton at Windermere on October 31, God willing.
