A Tribute to Future

Dear Ones,

On February 7, our Beloved Future passed into God's arms. She developed a severe colic, and could not be saved, despite veterinary treatment.

At 31 years, Future had a long and wonderful life at Windermere, followed by a few years in "retirement" with Bonnie Nickoloff and myself in the mountains of Southern California. She was one of J-R's favorites. As the story goes, J-R fell in love with her at the Snyders' Morgan farm in Las Vegas, NV, and arranged for her to come to Windermere when she was 2 years old.

Future, a strong and sturdy Morgan mare, gave countless rides to our guests, both by horse-drawn carriage, and by horseback. Future also gave us two beautiful foals, Bambi and Star Sabrina, who were dearly loved. Future's essential quality of Peace was "Assertiveness", which she certainly embodied, and which gave inspiration to many who adopted her in the Adopt-A-Quality program.
