One Accord Workshop Series
These
special workshops are presented so that participants can have a
tangible experience of peace and discover practical ways to become
peacemakers in their daily lives.
Introduction
to Peace
(Intro Workshop - 90 min.)
In one and one-half
hours, participants enjoy an introduction to the "Finding Peace in Today's World." The workshop provides the opportunity to experience
peace inside and use simple principles for bringing greater peace
into daily life. Participants will:
- Look at what
peace is and what it is that disturbs the innate sense of peace.
- Hear about
practical principles for bring more peace into life today.
- Have an awareness
and experience of how peace can be chosen regardless of what others
are doing.
The
Choices that Lead to Peace
(Youth Workshop - 2 Hrs)
This workshop
is designed for middle and high school students who are interested
in discovering greater peace for themselves. Students explore their
own personal meaning of peace and gain tools for accessing the resources
that they each have available for choosing greater peace in each
moment. During the workshop students:
- Explore their
personal meaning of peace.
- Discover
peace is always available, even when they aren't aware of it.
- Identify
the special qualities they already have as a peacemaker.
- Learn to
make choices that lead to peace even in difficult situations.
- Develop next
steps to use the power of peace in their lives.
From
Issue to Process: The Choices that Lead to Peace
(Half-day workshop)
This three-hour
session presents an introduction and the opportunity to explore
some of the key principles and processes that provide the practical
foundation for creating greater peace, right now. As in all IIWP
workshops,"From Issue to Process" assists participants
in exploring what peace means to them and to:
- Experience
one accord and identify when it is present.
- Understand
how perception affects our responses and reactions.
- Utilize the
peace chart to create a road-map to peace in any situation.
- Create next
steps toward peace in their life
The
Process Toward
Individual Peace
(Weekend Workshop)
Imagine being
a part of group of people dedicated to the exploration of peace
in their lives. The Process Toward Individual Peace is an experience
that allows you just that.
In this environment,
participants fully explore and immerse themselves in their own process
toward peace. This workshop provides the opportunity to apply the
principles and processes to real-life situations with safety and
support. Participants begin to
- Recognize
the principles of peace and the experience One Accord with others.
- Understand
how the power of perception and shapes our experience of peace.
- See how owning,
disowning, and "shoulds" either expand or limit our
choices toward peace.
- Find a safe
place inside that allows them to live authentically and choose
peace daily.
- Use observation
as a path to peace.
Transform real issues into peace processes.
- Anchor the
Process Toward Peace as a practical reality for themselves and
loved ones.
- Take home
their personal dedication to peace.
Intro
to Peace - E-mail Classes
E-mail
Classes (3 Weeks)
In the "Introduction
to Peace" e-mail class, participants are introduced to, and
utilize the four key principles to the process toward peace. During
the class, participants explore each of these principles in their
daily lives and learn how to apply them in simple but powerful ways.
During three weeks, they have the opportunity to focus on:
- Peace is present.
- Peace is a choice.
- Dedicating Yourself
to Peace.
This class is entirely
done by e-mail. Students e-mail their responses to the class exercises
to the other members of their class. Each class consists of 6-8
people. Students have six days to compete each class session at
their convenience before receiving the next week's class.
