October has been a lovely month on the ranch. Fall is in the air as the days become shorter, and there are plans for a Thanksgiving potluck dinner at Windermere!!

Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the dear Angel who donated a lovely glider bench from the "Windermere Wish List". Here you see the bench proudly displayed in its new location on the patio of the Garden House.
We received this lovely note from Liz Plummer, who visited the ranch with Inez Bishop in September:
"I just wanted to let you know that I had a wonderful afternoon at Windermere the week of the 18th of September. I was in Santa Barbara for my niece's wedding and wanted to be sure to get up to Windermere. It had been years since I last visited.
"MJ greeted us with a warm welcome and gave us a tour. I had sprained my ankle slightly a few days earlier. MJ was quite the hostess and Minister, attentive to my steps and looking for a walking stick for me, which we found like magic... just the right size and length! Up on the rocks, over looking the ocean, we called in the Light and did Prayer Communion. Inez told me the rocks had healing power. Being me, I always have some skepticism but, I must say, my ankle was throbbing when I first got to the rocks and when we got up to leave 2 hours later it felt noticeably better. I was amazed and grateful!
"MJ also showed us the ponds, and the Bunk and Garden Houses. I thought the houses looked great inside, very comfortable and cozy. They felt welcoming and homey. Definitely inviting for a weekend/week retreat. I also loved the wooden/metal table on the patio of the Garden House. I was told it was hand made by one of the caretakers. Very nice. And, what a view from that patio! I could have sat there for hours relaxing, doing S.E's and just taking in the view.
"It was a wonderful afternoon. I did miss the horses but the donkey tagged along up to the pond and he was very sweet!
